History


Moruga R.C. School was established in 1925 and is located within the compound of the St. Vincent Ferrer R.C. Church. In 2015, the school's main building was demolished, and the school was partially relocated to the La Lune Roman Catholic Primary School ru.1d to Dr. the Honorable Lovell Francis-Member of Parliament's Office at Bois Jean Jean, Moruga for eight months of the academic school year 2015/2016 until it was unified on Monday 18th April, 2016. The school now consists of nine (9) pre-fabricated containers which house six (6) individual classrooms, a library and a music room. In addition, it also comprises an annex which houses a utility room, a computer room, a kitchenette, a Standard Five classroom and the Principal's Office. This school has enjoyed past successes in the areas of Spelling Bee, Religious Education, Sports, Music, Dance, Drama, Carnival and Choral Speaking.

The school population presently is one hundred and nine ( 109) students - fifty three (53) boys and fifty six (56) girls. There are eight (8) members of staff; one (1) Senior Teacher and one (1) Principal. There are also two (2) On-The-Job Trainees assigned to this school.
